- Abstract
The authors of the article "Genetic Association of Circulating Adipokines with Risk of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis: a Two-Sample Mendelian Randomization Study" respond to a letter to the editor by Zhang et al. In their response, the authors acknowledge the novel perspectives proposed by Zhang et al. regarding the causal link between adipokines and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). They explain that the differences in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) data used in the Mendelian Randomization (MR) study may have affected the results. The authors also address the selection of datasets and phenotypes used in their study and express their willingness to perform an updated MR analysis with more available datasets in the future. They appreciate Zhang et al.'s re-analysis and believe that it can expand knowledge and provide new insights into the understanding of IPF.
