- Abstract
The article discusses research which showed that imaging of mitochondrial dynamics within human skin showed depth-dependent hypoxia. Topics discussed include monitoring by endogenous two-photon-excited fluorescence from the reduced metabolic coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), in vivo outcomes resulting from NADH fluorescence changes and varied mitochondrial organization patterns with historical stratification and intraepithelial mitochondrial protein expression.
