The article presents a study that investigated the relationship between vaginal microbial dysbiosis, inflammation and pregnancy outcomes in cervical cerclage. Topics discussed include retrospective assessment of suture materials' effects on pregnancy outcomes, baseline characteristics of the prospective study subjects and suture materials' impact on the vaginal microbiome.
