- Abstract
The article discusses a study of the genetic mutations that are related to age at diagnosis in patients who have metastatic neuroblastoma (MN). The researchers examined the deoxyribonucleic acid from diagnostic tumors from 104 patients who have MN, collected between 1987 and 2009, using whole genome sequencing. They found somatic mutations in transcriptional regulator ATRX in 100 percent of tumors from patients in the adolescent and young adult group, in 17 percent of tumors from children, and zero percent of tumors from infants.
