- Title
The Use and Misuse of ICU Telemedicine.
- Authors
Kahn, Jeremy M.
- Abstract
The author discusses a study published within the issue, which examines the hospital mortality, length of stay, and preventable clinical outcomes associated with the implementation of intensive care unit (ICU) telemedicine among critically ill patients. He compares the results of the study with that of the multicenter study conducted by E. J. Thomas and et al, which showed no beneficial link between ICU telemedicine and in-hospital mortality. He explores some of the limitations of the study which include the size of the adjusted mortality reduction.
