- Abstract
The present study aims to present the effect of aridity index (AR) calculated by the UNEP version, of the quality of soil (CWs), given by the official creditworthiness marks of the National Institute of Soil Science and of the agricultural intensity degree (TPI) at various levels of agricultural exploitation over the wheat yield in Romania. That creates the scientific basis for new technologies, which will be able to better exploit the water, so precious for the semiarid areas where wheat grows. A negative correlation between AR and the average wheat yield in the last 10 years and a positive one between soil quality and production were found.
