- Abstract
The article examines the representation of rape in William Rowley's tragedy "All's Lost by Lust." The plot of the tragedy is outlined. The attitude to the rape victim in the drama of the period is assessed. The origins of anxiety about the status of rape victims in patriarchal culture is discussed. The uniqueness of "All's Lost" among rape tragedies is highlighted.
