- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the association between the familial risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) using the CHD family risk score (FRS) and incident type 2 diabetes in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities study. The analysis of family history of CHD and the percentage of participants with low CHD-FRS score are mentioned. The study suggests that familial CHD risk was significantly associated with increased diabetes risk among those with a positive parental diabetes history.
