- Abstract
The article discusses a study related to complete nucleotide sequence of an ESBL-producing atypical enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (aEPEC) isolate, SLK172, carrying uniquely disrupted mcr-1 gene and being inactivated after insertion of an ISApl1 element. Topics include resistance of isolate to antimicrobial compounds used in human medicine such as fosfomycin possessing of common DNA segment in mcr-1-containing sequences and recovery of functional mcr-1 gene with exposure to colistin.
