- Abstract
The article discusses when should cinacalcet hydrochloride be administered to patients. It claims that the administration of cinacalcet before haemodialysis can suppress the transient increase in intact parathyroid hormone due to low-calcium dialysate. It suggests that the use of low-calcium dialysate can increase the usage opportunities and doses of calcium-containing phosphate binders and vitamin D drugs. It further adds that investigations are needed to determine when cinacalcet should be administered.
