- Abstract
The article discusses the emergence of indigenous psychology in the power structure of world politics and economy with indigenization movements initiated by non-Western psychologists in the spirit of nationalism and academic anti-colonialism. Topics discussed include criticism by mainstream psychologists against indigenous psychology approach where indigenous psychologists conduct scientific study of human behavior designed for its peoples to develop a cultural-appropriate psychology.
