- Abstract
The article discusses the homogeneity of collective identities and the literary works dealing with German-Israeli encounters as reflected in the short story "Solomon and the Others," by Katja Behren and the novel "Andernorts," by Doron Rabinovici. Topics include the complexity of German-Israeli relations, the impact of the Shoah on German-Israeli relations and the notion of a negative symbiosis between Germans and Jews. The use of the Hebrew in German texts and bilingualism is mentioned.
