- Title
Coverage Issues In Sample Surveys: A Component of Measurement Error.
- Authors
Cowan, Charles D.
- Abstract
The article discusses statistical errors in surveys in the U.S. Number of sampling frames show deficiency in terms of representing a population. If the listing of the population has poor coverage any sample drawn from the frame is expected to have errors. The author provides techniques for improving coverage, it is called multiple frame estimation and the other one is network sampling. Techniques are available in sampling to avoid coverage problems, and estimation techniques can be used to compensate for coverage problems.
