- Abstract
Studies of the adsorption and degradation of propyzamide (3,5-dichloro-N-(1,1-dimethylpropynyl)benzamide) analogues were done in different soils. A good correlation was found between adsorption and organic matter content of the soils. There is a linear connection between this adsorption and the hydrophobic parameter (coefficient of water-octanol partition). By contrast, the degradation of these compounds in different soils shows no simple relationship with nature of the soils nor with the chemical structure of the compounds. The importance of these phenomena for the results of bioassays is also analysed.
