- Abstract
The article presents the Lacey Act Amendments and discusses the illegal logging trade and reasons behind the amendment of the Lacey Act. It analyzes some of the implementation issues with Lacey Act Amendments particularly its lack of a de minimis exception provision. It examines the steps to be undertaken by the international community to address the problem of illegal logging.The 2008 Amendments made it illegal to import plants or plant products acquired in violation of another country's laws.
