- Title
Functional MRI Signal Fluctuations: A Preclinical Biomarker for Cognitive Impairment in Type 2 Diabetes?
- Authors
Aguiar, Renata Belfort-De; Constable, R. Todd; Sherwin, Robert S.
- Abstract
The authors comment on a study which examined the resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-F-MRI) spontaneous low-frequency signal oscillations and their local smoothness in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. The study has shown that both T2DM and control subjects posted higher amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALF) and regional homogeneity (ReHo) values in the posterior cingulated cortex and the precuneus and medial pre-frontal cortex.
