- Title
Six Key Cities Can Host 2024 Presidential Debates.
- Authors
NADER, RALPH
- Abstract
The article discusses the lack of presidential debates in the 2024 election due to the withdrawal of the Republican National Committee (RNC) from the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) and the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) lack of plans to sponsor primary debates. The author suggests that voters should organize their own debates in major cities in swing states, such as Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. These debates would provide a greater variety of formats and reflect regional issues, and invitations to the nominees would be difficult to reject. The author encourages mayors and city councils to establish host committees to organize these debates and engage the local community.
