- Abstract
The article assesses the international aviation regulatory scheme and its application to unmanned aircraft operations. Unmanned aircraft, drone or unmanned aerial system (UAS) refers to a category or class of remotely-piloted aircraft intended for non-recreational activities, commercial, military, government or scientific purposes. The article presents the brief history of the Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the ICAO regulatory structure. It also explains the Chapter I of the Chicago Convention.
