- Abstract
The article focuses on the findings of an atmospheric research which shows that methyl bromide (MB) was among the class of ozone-depleting substances (ODSs) that have been planned for 100% phase out by 2005 under the Montreal Protocol and the U.S. Clean Air Act. The increasing regulation of standard chemical alternatives due to concerns about air pollution and toxicity to workers and nearby populations is mentioned. A timeline and policy decisions for MB from 1970 to 2010 is presented.
