Das, Saswati
- Abstract
This article attempts to examine whether the economic prosperity India achieved during the 1980s and 1990s brought any advancement in the welfare of the rural people, where the Shorrocks's generalized Lorenz curve is used to determine welfare function. The analysis uses data provided by the National Sample Survey Organization of India. The analysis reveals the systematic well-being of the people in rural India over time through generalized Lorenz criterion.
