The Uncertainty of Goblin Market.
- Authors
Humphries, Simon
- Abstract
A literary criticism of poet Christina Rosetti's poem "Goblin Market" is presented. Its structure around theological contradiction is examined. The author purports that many religious interpretations of the poem are not entirely accurate. The author also states that Rossetti's work is centered around contradiction and obscurity. Attention is also paid to the ideas of Christian theology, evil, symbolism, and poet John Milton's "Paradise Lost".
