Abstract
The article discusses the Queen Esther beauty competition in which young Jewish women are selected to represent the Biblical queen. The author contends that the contest promoted Zionist agendas in the pre-state period of Eretz Israel among Yemeni Jewish women by inspiring them to collaborate in the movement.
