- Abstract
In this article the author reflects on the issues related to elevated level of C-reactive protein (CRP ) in people suffering from prosthetic joint infections. As stated, such issues raise the clinician's concern regarding the effectiveness of the chosen antibiotic treatment. He states that the study by R. J. Piso and R. Elke on prosthetic joint infections, published in the current issue of the journal, highlights that CRP elevation may have a variety of causes, and infection is only one of them.
