- Abstract
The article presents a case of a 43-year-old woman with a history of Crohn's disease that lead to squamous cell carcinoma of the anus. It is stated that the patient underwent positron emission tomography and was treated with radiation therapy. It notes that human papilloma virus (HPV) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was found in the anal carcinoma biopsy. It also mentions the need to pay attention to symptoms refractory to treatment especially in patients with long-standing Crohn's disease.
