- Abstract
The article critiques the bilingual prose fiction book "The Voice in the Closet/La Voix dans le cabinet de débarras," by the Jewish Holocaust survivor Raymond Federman. Particular focus is given to the literary influence of the novelist, playwright and poet Samuel Beckett on the book, including his short stories "L'Expulsé/The Expelled" and "The Unnameable." The role that the French language plays in the English language version of "The Voice in the Closet" is discussed.
