- Title
Solid evidence or fluid ideas on the importance lipid phase transitions to diapausing copepods.
- Authors
Wilson, Robert J.; Speirs, Douglas C.; Heath, Michael R.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the published works of D. W. Pond and colleagues on solid-liquid transitions of lipids. The authors say that Pond and colleagues works has showed that lipid phase transitions are significance in the life history of zooplankton species including calanoid copepods. Moreover, the authors comment on the use of wax esters (WEs) as main lipid stores component in Pond and colleagues' works.
