- Abstract
The article presents an evaluation of the nature and significance of Left Opposition in the backdrop of Trotsky's biography by Tony Cliff. The article also states that Trotsky and the Left Opposition never opposed Stalin's policy of industrialization and collectivism, and assess their inability to support worker or labor opposition to those policies. The article makes a detailed study on the circumstances leading to the fall of Trotsky.
