- Abstract
The article focuses on the case of Steffes vs. City of Lawrence concerning a city ordinance prohibiting smoking in public places in Lawrence City, Kansas. The plaintiff Dennis Steffes is a bar owner who was cited for failing to provide a smoke-free workplace and also failed to provide smoking inside a bar which violates Lawrence city ordinance 7782. Steffes has brought an action against the city by seeking an injunction against the enforcement of the ordinance. However, the district court denied the injunction and held in favor of the city.
