- Abstract
The object-based stochastic modeling method has been widely used in fluvial reservoir modeling as it can describe the scale of distribution of geological bodies and anisotropy clearly. In the commercial modeling software, like Petrel software that the default method of object-based modeling is for channels across through the whole research area. But under some specific situation that channels run end inside the research area and there is no effective method to achieve the correct channel modeling currently. To solve the problem, this paper proposed a new method. Firstly, the corresponding termination boundary should be set inside the research area according to the channel scale which being confirmed by the geological analysis. Secondly, the improvement should be made on the original Fluvial reservoir modeling algorithm Fluvsim to show the channel which ends at the termination boundary and also the thickness of channel goes less gradually. Thirdly, no change is made for the channel which has no boundary internally. Example research shows that the mentioned method solved the modeling problem under the condition that there are two different kinds of channels and one ends inside and the other goes through the interesting area.
