- Title
On the Unity of the Kallenian Perspective--Or Contra the Diplopia of Certain Critics.
- Authors
Lear, Elmer N.
- Abstract
The article analyzes Horace Kallen's conceptions of cultural pluralism focusing on the perspectives of Kallen by Spencer Maxcy. Maxcy argued that Kallen's pluralism centered on ethnicity and a pluralism relocating to the arena of vocation. The author argued that Maxcy's contention is unacceptable because its documentary supports lean primarily upon Kallen's better known sociopolitical and pedagogical writings, neglecting his more technical, philosophical output and his parochial Jewish treatises and the unitary nature of Kallen's pluralism.
