- Abstract
This article inquires which are the main concepts of power proposed by feminist theory in the context of the second-wave, in order to argue that it is possible to identify two fundamental, complementary concepts. By way of a revision of the central feminist ideas of power emerged in the 1960s, it is shown that they are mainly related to the concepts of domination and oppression, but also to the notions of empowerment, resource, care, and freedom. It is then argued that in order to analyze the power relationships between women and men it is necessary to return to both the concept of power as domination and the concept of power as empowerment.
