- Abstract
The article discusses research on whether static imaging time-of-flight-secondary-ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) equipped with a Bismuth-cluster ion source can be used to study skeletal muscle lipid accumulation associated with obesity. The signal intensities of fatty acids (FA) and diacylglycerols (DAG) were found to be significantly increased in skeletal muscle of the obese mice than in the lean wild-type mice.
