Awareness of wetlands and their conservation value among students at a primary school in Victoria, Australia.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article evaluates the conservation of Cheetham wetlands in Australia. The necessity to curb unauthorized access is the major issue in the maintenance of the wetlands. Unauthorized access disturbs the shore birds resulting in reduced breeding and abandonment. The involvement of primary school children to curb unauthorized intrusions is presented. Also presented is the survey on the efforts to draw awareness on the wetland education centers. The implications for the management of the wetlands having little perceived value, without the awareness program is discussed.
