- Abstract
This article presents the impact that the traffic generating seed has along with a new burst assembly algorithm on the performance of an optical burst switching network -OBS. In which the implemented assembly algorithm is characterized by being mixed and adaptive, that is, a non-classical algorithm. The OBS network model has some fixed preset parameters, such as the number of channels per optical link, the speed per channel, implementation of classical algorithms in the other processes of the functional network scheme, among others. To evaluate the performance, the amount of transmitted bursts transmitted or the probability of blocking is analyzed. The results show the effect of varying the seed has and the impact of the proposed assembly algorithm on the probability of blocking according to the scenario. Each simulation scenario has a different seed and it is implemented for a specific high traffic volume.
