- Abstract
This article discusses the impact of obstetrical complications on the long-term health of women and children. The changing demographic and clinical characteristics of women of reproductive age, such as delayed pregnancies and increased prevalence of underlying health conditions, have contributed to an increase in obstetrical complications and severe maternal morbidity and mortality. The article highlights the need for further research to understand the complex interplay of risk factors in the development of chronic conditions throughout a woman's life. It also examines the influence of preconception and perinatal risk factors on maternal and offspring health outcomes, as well as the importance of high-quality data and rigorous methods in studying these relationships. The article concludes by suggesting future directions for research and the potential use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in identifying women at risk for chronic diseases.
