- Authors
Marshall, Jeffrey; Heffes, Ellen M.
- Abstract
The article discusses how the Sarbanes-Oxley law has impacted initial public offerings (IPO) and merger and acquisition activity in 2006. Due to increased regulations, more companies have been remaining private and the amounts raised by IPOs have declined. Mark Heesen of National Venture Capital Association is quoted and expresses the need for more success in the IPO market. The life sciences industries have had the most financial success in IPOs, while merger and acquisitions have increased in total dollars.
