- Authors
Heffes, Ellen M.
- Abstract
This article reports on some of the plans that Financial Executives Institute (FEI) Canada chairperson in 2003-2004 M. Stephanie Coldwell has for the organization. The author notes that Coldwell's main goals to publicly position FEI as the most effective and dynamic organization for Canada's ethical financial executives. The author adds that with the slew of high-profile corporate scandals, Coldwell sees the opportunity for FEl to step in and further shape the dialogue on corporate reporting and governance by expanding its advocacy role through a three-tiered strategy. In the first tier, FEI can take a position on a small number of issues that will apply to all members. The second tier will be to discusses issues members disagree on, while the final tier will respond to these issues.
