- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the removal of keratin 71 (KRT71) as candidate for hairlessness among Don Sphynx cats. The study uses ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) blood samples from five hairless purebred Don Sphynx cats and one cat each of the Siberian Forest Cat and Cornish Rex breeds. The study reveals that any mutation of KRT71 is not associated with hairlessness among Don Sphynx cats.
