- Abstract
Trisomy 13 occurs in approximately 1 in 5,000-10,000 live births and fewer than 10% of infants survive till age 2 years. However, some do survive into their 20s. This has direct implications for parental counseling and medical care planning. Patients who survive beyond childhood require multidisciplinary care to address multiple medical and psychosocial issues associated with trisomy 13. We present a case of a 20 year old male who we have followed in our clinic since infancy.
