- Abstract
A biography of funk-rock singer Betty Mabry Davis is presented, with focus given to her musical influence and use of eroticism in her performances. Davis was born in 1944 in Durham, North Carolina. She began performing with the Chambers Brothers, a folk rock group, and later moved to New York City, where she met her future husband, jazz musician Miles Davis. After divorcing Davis, Betty moved to San Francisco, California, where she released the album "Betty Davis" and started publishing music.
