The article presents a profile of the Taiwanese art collector Leo Shih. The author notes that Shih's collection is primarily focused on the first generation of Chinese oil painters who traveled to Europe in the 1920s, a time when Western art had a major influence on Chinese art. In addition, Shih is interested in works by the Korean artist Haegue Yang as well as in the photographs of Nobuyoshi Araki. Comments by the collector are presented.
