This article examines the political aftermath of a crisis in Israel, specifically the October 7th terror attack. It explores the relationship between accountability and the "blame game" in crisis management and leadership. The article discusses the potential political consequences for leaders, including elite reinvigoration, damage, and escape. It also emphasizes the complexity of interpreting a crisis and the influence of various actors such as political leaders, the media, and victims' families. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for a comprehensive understanding of the interconnected factors that shape a crisis and the importance of a theoretical framework for anticipating and preparing for future challenges.
