Isoscalar monopole and dipole resonances in [sup 90]Zr, [sup 116]Sn, [sup 144]Sm, and [sup 208]Pb are studied within the framework of self-consistent HF-RPA or HF-BCS plus quasiparticle RPA. A comparison with recent experimental data obtained at Texas A&M University, as well as the problems related to the determination of the nuclear incompressibility K[sub ∞], is discussed.
