- Abstract
The article explores the neoliberal genre of queer television (TV) programs such as "Queer Eye," "RuPaul's Drag Race," and "Pose." Topics discussed include the increase in the viewership of queer TV shows during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the conception of realness and authenticity exemplified in queer reality TV programs "Queer Eye" and "RuPaul's Drag Race," and the self-care rhetoric observed in similar TV programs.
