Investigates the degradation of lipid-free apolipoprotein serum amyloid A (apoSAA) by tissue macrophages derived from amyloid-susceptible CBA/J mice in vitro. Catabolism of apoSAA; Absence of amyloid deposits in peritoneal and splenic macrophage monolayers; Increase in vitro of uptake of high-density lipoprotein-associated apoSAA by splenic macrophages during the development of AA amyloidosis.
