- Abstract
The article describes the further development of the Sander-II apparatus, an innovative construction for Class I/2 treatments in orthodontics. The apparatus was developed by Franz Günter Sander and introduced as the treatment standard for patients with skeletal Class II. It consists of a two-part plate for the upper and lower jaw, which are connected to each other by a special expansion screw. A new version of the apparatus, the Neo-VDP/Sander-VDP 2.0, has been developed to eliminate previous limitations. The text also describes the production and application of a forward double plate (VDP) in orthodontics, which can be successfully used in the treatment of Class II/1 and Class II/2 cases. Two patient cases are shown as examples of the VDP application. The company MEDENTiKA distributes prosthetic components that are compatible with all common implant systems, and distribution is carried out by the Straumann Group based in Freiburg.
