- Abstract
1. A technique for determining the response of serum chylomicron and lipomicron counts to the ingestion of lipotropic substances such as choline and inositol is described. 2. In a controlled series of patients with proven coronary atherosclerosis it was found that the lipotropic agent choline reduced serum chylo and lipomicron counts. Inositol did not display this activity when employed alone. 3. A synergistically acting combination of choline, inositol, methionine and vitamin B complex was more effective in reducing chylo and hpomicron counts than choline or inositol alone.
