More compensation for victims.
- Authors
Dorey, Emma
- Abstract
The article focuses on the phase I drug trial at Northwick Park hospital in Great Britain where four victims received unconditional interim payments of £10,000. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency found that neither TeGenero, which developed the drug, nor Parexel, which conducted the trial, were responsible for the adverse reactions. According to Richard Kelly, pharmaceutical risks expert, in clinical trial insurance, anyone injured by an unforeseen event should be compensated.
