- Abstract
Jan Jarkowski (1880-1929) was a Polish surgeon and neurologist who made significant contributions to the field of neurology. He studied medicine in St. Petersburg and became involved in anti-tzarist activities. After receiving his medical degree, he settled in Warsaw and continued his anti-Russian activities. Jarkowski worked with renowned neurologist Joseph Babinski in Paris and conducted research on reflexes and motor signs in Parkinson's disease. He also studied muscle plasticity during hemiplegia and wrote about various aspects of neurology. Jarkowski's work has left a lasting impact on the field of neurology.
