- Abstract
The article presents the technical proposal in botany to conserve the name of the plant specie Vesicularia (Bryophytes) with a new name Vesicularia Vologdin (fossil Cyanophyceae). It highlights issues related to Vesicularia as the name of the well-known moss with uncertain algal origin along with its economic importance. It notes that the name Vologdin is illegitimate due to illegitimate generic name according to the article 18.3 of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (ICBN).
